What did you do before you studied hairdressing? - Before Hairdressing at college, i was a full time mum. I worked from when i left school, also attending college, studying HND Graphic Design up until I fell pregnant with my oldest, I've had various different jobs since school but when I had my daughter I took some time out of work to spend raising my child. Amy, now 4 is attending Glenbrae Nursary and in august will be going to the big school, All Saints Primary. Two Years later I had my youngest daughter, Ana (Now 22 months). After having Ana I decided I wanted a career, to better myself and be able to take care of my children indepentantly so I chose to come back to college and actually do something with my life.
Why did you chose your course? .- I chose hairdressing because I've always been good at hair, Doing my friends hair on nights out and for interviews etc and doing my hair, I've always had compliments on it. My friends always prompted me into going to college to do hair, but i was always interested in Art. When i took my HND course I was forced to leave because i had a bad pregnancy and the coursework became to stressful. I hope to return to Graphic Design When I'm on my feet again, but in the meantime i do enjoy hairdressing.
Why do you wish to have a hairdressing career? - Well I do enjoy doing people's hair. i love the feedback i get which is mostly good.
What are your future aims and goals within hairdressing? - Just now my future aim in hairdressing is to get the hang of it all, to understand colour better, and perfect my cutting. After college i hope to get a job in a slon and become a professional hairdresser with qualifications.
Who inspires you within hairdressing? - Nothing really inspires me to do hairdressing. I just enjoy doing it. I hope to have a career in Graphic Design in the future.
